This story is perfect. Even with the waits between chapters that seemed endless, it just is. And I feel like you've captured them so truthfully, as if you knew them, really. Nothing has ever been cliche, and it's dark, often depressing, asfixiating, but the outcome is the same, and it's the truth of why we're fans - you just want them to be together. You just think that they are good for each other and they need to see that.

I really like the way Kimberley felt like at the hospital. It makes complete sense that she would wonder if she is good for Cheryl at all due to circumstances. I also think this particular part of the dialogue is amazing:

.......................
"I was thinking... what will happen if I continue saying no?"

Kimberley offers a wan smile. "Do you really want to find out?"

And with that, Cheryl sets her glass down on the coffee table, turns and kneels up so she's facing Kimberley, holds her hands, cool and soft between her own.

"Don't you?" she asks.

.............

I think it sums everything up nicely. I'm quite sad that you consider this your goodbye to Chim but I can understand it. I'm in the middle of writing my first long story in more than a year and it took me a long time to ever feel inspired enough to do it. I really thought, at some point, that my inspiration for them was over.

Again, before I change the subject, fantastic fantastic. The way you write has me in awe and I love this so much. Will re read, for sure, now it has ended. Thank you very much.

You are far too kind with all this praise, but it's awesome so thank you. It was a pretty angsty fic, but that had always been my intention after Pillow Talk. I'm glad the vibe seemed true to life and everything, I guess I did something right!

I'm totally exhausted having finished this. I reckon it would take me all day to read the whole thing back now. But it's very satisfying too, to get it done and dusted. Actually I did a fanmix to help me plot the story when I got stuck and I'll probably post that tomorrow if anyone's interested.

But thanks again for your wonderful comments and sticking with it throughout the delays.
