OOC-Five Facts
Just posting the 5 facts that I answered for Lyle for a meme on my personal journal here.
1. Lyle was a really sickly child. It started with getting very ill when he was around five and continued for most of his childhood. It prevented him from competing on the same level as Neil but not from a lack of skills, he couldn't be a soccer star because he was too sick for tryouts, even if he was capable of playing. This constant failure to be on Neil's level due to outside circumstances eventually turned into a bitterness that fueled his inferiority complex.
2. Unless your name is Anew Returner or Neil Dylandy, Lyle doesn't care about you. Despite his ability to make easy small talk with almost anyone, he doesn't really care about them over all. He's very dissociative mentally and will very readily sacrifice other people for the sake of Anew or Neil. Part of his damage is that he doesn't see anything wrong with this. Though in Som, he's managed to build up some relationships that actually matter to him a bit.
3. He started smoking to piss of Neil. He already had lung problems and asthma so Neil being the big brother was always on Lyle about keeping healthy and staying safe. Lyle eventually got sick of ideas being pushed on him and just started smoking as a way to rebel.
4. Lyle can fall asleep anywhere. Just give him someplace to rest his head and he'll just doze off if nothing is going on. He always falls asleep in long car rides and gets really grumpy if he doesn't get to sleep in.
5. Lyle likes sex because for most of his life he's been a pleasure seeker to try to block out anything that could be painful. He's always been pretty cute so it wasn't hard for him to get girls, but he was never interested in a relationship until he met Anew. She was someone he could express his feelings to and shed his anxieties that way. However, she's also great in bed so that's a plus. :D
