resolutions and hail

well, i have made a resolution...kinda.

i always want to "diet", but this year i have decided to make a step toward a healthier eating plan. i don't like the word diet. i just want to eat better - try to actually meet the food pyramid guidelines. i've also decided since i won't be in school anymore, it's probably best for me to pick up some form of exercise, even if it is only walking. so i hope to start off slow and work my way into a healthier, happier lifestyle. i've been doing my research, too. good luck to me!

i also have a short list of some other things i want to incorporate into my life. :)

today, something very scary happened to me. it definitely would make the "top 10 scariest things that's ever happened to me" list.

after i got off work at 1pm, i did some browsing at wal-mart for some healthy eating/living books and magazines. i also looked at a few other things. by the time i finally left, it was 2pm. on my way home, it started lookin kinda rainy/stormy. i was probably about 10 minutes from home when it started raining. it wasn't heavy, just steady. a couple minutes later, it starts hailing. i've never, ever drove in hail so i slowed down. it wasn't too bad until it started gettin bigger and louder. it got so bad that i pulled off the side of the road, along with several other cars. i called my mom to tell her 'thanks for the warning' (because she usually lets me know about the weather) but she called me first. she asked me where i was, and i thanked her for the warning. she asked where i was and i told her, then she asked me that the noise was. i told her hail. it just kept gettin louder and harder, and i started to panic. she stayed on the phone with me and told me to try to keep toward the center of my car. ten minutes later it finally stopped. the road was so covered it looked like it had snowed. after i eased back onto the road, i turned my radio back up to hear there was a tornado warning (not for my area though). the skies looked crazy, and it was that dark gray/greenish color. the winds were sideways and swirling, and the rain and lightning picked up as i made the very, very long 5 minute drive across town. finally i was home...safe. i haven't really looked at my car, but my mom said it looked like there was damage, so i have to take it to get checked out tomorrow. it gave me a horrible headache, too.

i'm just glad i survived. when my mom was trying to calm me down, she told me that God was my co-pilot, and i would be fine. i guess she was right, but it was scary as hell.
