a long (and somewhat boring) entry...

well Christmas has come...and (thankfully) gone...

this year was probably the easiest year i've ever had. i had my shopping done early. i didn't have to go to several different family get-togethers. my immediate family and i had Christmas alone for the first time ever. it was kinda nice. it even snowed a little.

the only bad part was that i worked 8 hours on Christmas Eve, and when i got home i was so exhausted that i didn't even care it was Christmas. (Christmas Eve was when my immediate family and i ate dinner, opened presents, and spent quality time together.)

the biggest highlight of the evening was that 10 minutes after my mom checked the turkey to see if it was done (it was), there was a bright light and loud noise that came from the kitchen. our entire stove/oven stopped working. thankfully, dinner was ready. (here it is thursday, dec. 29 and we still haven't fixed the problem - the electrician says it's not the stove/oven it's something electrical in the house...hmmmm.)

so i got a lot of nice things. there were, of course, a few things i really wanted that i didn't get, but like i said i did get a lot of nice things. i got a few CDs, some DVDs, all the Harry Potter books, 2 cookbooks, some things for my own place (when i move out), an IU hoodie, a Colts hoodie, and IU jacket, really nice hand-stitched scarf with matching mittens, two Scene It DVD games....hmmm...that about wraps it up, i think. from myself, i received a new computer, which i set-up all on my own.

i've had more car problems...i shelled out about $400 in November, and another $200 this month. i think since i owe about $3000 on my car (despite it only being worth about $900-$1000 - sad, i know) that i am going to try and save some money up to either pay some extra on it or trade it it and have a nice down payment for a newer car. i love my car - my first and only, but it's beginning to cost way more than it is worth.

i've been doing some job "looking" - just to see what's in the area. so far, i've made a nice list of the jobs i would want to do and the places i might like to work. i've also made a list of the possible jobs i am qualified for rather or not i want to start there, and the places i could work at if i can't get on somewhere on my other list. my resume has been done - rough copy. i'm gonna try to work on it some more then have someone of higher intelligence look it over...i'm excited thinking about jumping into my career. however, instead of quitting Wal-Mart and going somewhere full-time, i think i am going to find an internship or part-time job in my field and keep my foot in the door at Wal-Mart to make sure i don't get in over my head (especially if i get a new car).

well, after not posting for awhile, i'm sure i have rambled enough. LOL

hope everyone has a fun (and safe) New Year's Eve! drink one for me because i'll be in bed because i have to be at work at 6 a.m. on New Year's Day. how freakin sucky!! :)
