You'd think people would get weary of them after a while; most of them have become little more than excuses to take days off and 'celebrate' something that is either of limited importance or barely worth the trouble. And yet, for all that they manage to persist throughout the ages

I find it largely uninteresting. My own mother died some years back and I've paid it little attention since.

My mother and my father were surgeons, and always did their best to help others.
