Another holiday come and gone. You'd think people would get weary of them after a while; most of them have become little more than excuses to take days off and 'celebrate' something that is either of limited importance or barely worth the trouble. And yet, for all that they manage to persist throughout the ages.
At least some of them have historical precedence, unlike the one that has just passed. One day out of the year hardly amounts to anything in the larger scheme of things. It's a nice gesture, but little more; the same results could easily be achieved any other day of the year.
