Weep for the Unknown; they are lost

Dec 29, 2008 12:09

Since it occurs to me that there are yet members of our Organization that are comparatively unknown even within the fandom itself, I've decided to take matters into my own hands. There's little reason any of us should be forced to suffer the indignity of being a relative unknown within or own fandom or elsewhere.

But since I have my doubts about the fandom's attention span, I'll keep this to one person at a time. Perhaps I'll have more of an effect that way.

This is Lexaeus. I would hope that by now you would have some idea of who he was but since you seem to have forgotten, allow me to remind you. He was one of the original member of the Organization, and consequently one of those apprenticed to Ansem the Wise all these long years ago. When he was alive, he was the fifth of our number and designated 'the Silent Hero'. However, while he listened more than he spoke, this does not and did not make him invisible as some of you seem to think him. Nor was he only capable of speaking in single-word sentences or in what could best be described as fractured English as I have too often found to be the case in fanworks. To those of you who persist in perpetrating such things, I would like to refer you to this and remind you that he was a scientist. We all were, even if some of you seem to be having trouble remembering it.

In addition, while we're on the topic of science, I would like to take the time to mention that while Vexen was our resident scientist while he was still alive Lexeaus was far and away the more competent of the two, especially when it came to things requiring matters of patience. Ah, and since I'm fairly certain at least one of you will ask allow me to reiterate that we are simply friends.

endeavoring to correct your mistakes, lexaeus, fandom, why do i even try?
