First off, coconut oil is awesome. So yummy.
I attempted chicken fried steak for dinner tonight. It didn't turn out badly, per se, but not as well as I had hoped, either. Then again, it was the first time I've tried this particular recipe. Plus, I haven't done a lot of frying, and I'm sure I need more practice.
I had a lot of cubed steak, so half of it was "chicken fried" and the other half pan fried without the bread crumbs. I used butter and olive oil for the second batch, which I like better flavor-wise than the coconut oil. I think the coconut oil would go well with foods that are less savory.
I'll probably need to a regular store run tomorrow to get more fruits and vegetables. I might also look for raw honey or pure maple syrup to use as an alternative to sugar.
