Happy Fireworks Day, America!

(Because we all know people celebrate explosions, not independence.)

So I finally ran for a full 5k - the beach, according to googlemaps, is exactly 3.1 miles long down and back, and I had a clear shot because of the excellent tide today. It took me 37 minutes. I am beyond happy with this. I mean... that's a 12-ish minute mile. When we ran miles in middle school I swear it took me 15 minutes or more, and I was about ready to throw up at the end (I think one time I did at least go into the bathroom and dry-heave). I had some speed left in me, too, so I think I'm going to keep extending my runs by a few minutes each day. Zombie apocalypse, I will be ready!

Right now all the fireworks are far off, and it sounds nice and festive. Unlike how fireworks sound when they are close, which is more like "panic attack." I cannot wait to see how much fireworks crap is on the beach tomorrow morning. /sarcasm

running, celebrate!
