A chapter in my life has ended.

Other chapters on different subjects and in different parts will overlap this one, and new openings will spread, but an indelible conclusion has been struck - and I am weary, so very weary.
I will sleep tonight in a bed I have slept in only once before, but tonight our roles are reversed - now I am guardian, and he the one in need of care.

The wheel is turning.

The cards give me an ending in the past, with spades of trouble in the future. I find myself now the King of Hearts, no longer missing in the deck, but still bent and frayed from the journey.

My source of comfort is adjourned. Camaraderie remains, but she who became a part of me so quickly moves her footsteps from my path. I find myself surprisingly ill- prepared for the times ahead.

The gear grinds forward.

Buddhists believe in the Dharmachakra, the "Wheel of Dharma", an eight spoked wagon wheel which turns with the advancement of wisdom and knowledge; both globally and individually.

We live, we die. Hopefully we do something important in between.
