Part Eighty: "If you're going to Malta, then I am going with you."

Jun 04, 2012 09:00

Bob tells Holden and Lucinda that if they want to save the baby, they need to do a C-Section on Lily right away, but it could be quite dangerous for Lily. Meanwhile, Kevin gets all up in Luke's face for "abandoning" his friends, then leaves Luke alone to bond with Damian and make plans to go to Malta. Then Luke gets called to the hospital, and there's lots of drama about Lily, but she comes through the surgery just fine (but still in a coma) after delivering a baby boy.

Luke overhears Holden talking to a still-comatose Lily about their new son and decides he needs to stay in Oakdale to be there for Holden and the rest of his family. When he tells Damian about his decision, Damian acts as though he's willing to support Luke's decision, whatever it might be, but then Luke sees Damian taking pills which he later finds out from Lucy are an end-stage medication used to treat someone who is seriously ill.

Luke goes to see Damian and talks to him about the pills. Damian sticks to his story that they're for hay fever until Luke tells him he spoke to Lucy. Then Damian tells Luke that it's true, he's very sick; he doesn't know how much time he has left. He does a really masterful job of manipulating Luke into deciding to come to Malta with him and making Luke think that not only was everything his idea, but that Damian was actually trying to talk him out of coming, and even attempted to outright forbid him from coming along.
