Part Sixty-Five: "I am who I am."
Sorry so late! Tis the season to be ill and unable to go to work for three days. :| Thanks to rhiannonhero for covering me for the last one. Thanks, bb! And now let's continue. Last we left them, Lily was vying for Mommy of the Year. She... wasn't doing so well with Luke's Big Gay Outing.
We start with Lily looking at many baby pictures of Luke, remembering the good old days when he wasn't gay. Lily and Holden talk about Luke's gayness. Holden becomes the poster father of PFLAG by telling Lily what they need to do to comfort Luke at this time.
Enter Luke after he hears his mother ask what they did wrong... to make him gay? He's angry and yet somehow Lily is trying to turn this around on him by blaming him for the decisions he made while trying to figure out how to tell them that he was gay. Sigh, Lily.
Lily continues by saying he should "keep himself open to other possibilities." Oh, Lord. She thinks that he's just confused about this whole gay thing. While Luke's sticking it to her by telling her he is who he is. Go, Luke! You tell 'em.
Luke's not understanding why this is so difficult for Lily to accept. Luke says that if they can't accept him then he's going to leave. He doesn't want to see pity in their eyes and then he leaves.
They accept that it was difficult for Luke to tell them and Holden continues speaking on behalf of PFLAG, saying that they have to keep telling him that they love him and that they gave him the tools to make good decisions and that's what they have to do as parents. Aww, well, I'm glad that you have your head on straight.

Luke goes to try to send something to Jade and actually runs into her working in Oakdale. She tells him that he's not leaving anytime soon because she doesn't have any money to go anywhere. Dun, dun, dun...
Lily goes to pick up Lucinda and tells her that Jade's out of their lives. Lucinda asks which one of them dumped the other but Lily admits that they had a deal together. Luke covers for Jade and Jade covers for Luke. Because Luke's gay.
Luke gets pissed at Jade for existing and Jade loves to rub in Luke's face that Lily's not really that cool with the gay thing.
Lucinda is not really too shocked that Luke's gay. She lists various reasons why she's suspected this to be true and as they're about to leave, Lily says, "My son is gay. How can you be so calm?" DIDN'T SHE JUST GIVE YOU A LIST OF REASONS?! OY.
Lily doesn't want Luke to be gay and she can't accept it. Lucinda's trying to make her see reason and tells her not to play the "what if" game but Lily's still being a pill about it.
Jade continues to rub it in that Lily's not accepting Luke's news and continues being a total bitch about it. Can she leave now? Luke drops off Jade's stuff and tells her that she's not welcome. She gives a mild threat but Luke storms out.
