Vice Principal's Office, then the Preserve - Late Sunday Night

Jan 15, 2007 21:36

Thursday hadn't been listening to the radio since she'd returned to Fandom, so when she received a memo about tomorrow faculty meeting, she jumped into action. Namely, because the memo was signed 'Vice Principal Hades'. Her immediate assumption was that Acheron Hades, her arch-nemesis and general bad guy who should have been dead damn it, had ( Read more... )

Hades hadn't gotten the hang of weekdays and weekends yet, and the novelty of his swivel chair was still too tempting to resist, so he'd spent the evening in his office. It was cosier than his lair, and he'd started to find the little tidbits that his predecessor had left behind, like the velcro wall chess set and the bucket of confetti in the closet. The paperwork was still piling up and he didn't care. He didn't do that kind of work. That was the kind of work minions did. Only here he didn't have any minions yet. He had to get to work on that. Later. Now, he wanted to get home to his new place and catch the newest episode of CFD: Detroit before his TiVo decided to randomly delete it. That was the problem with TiVo. It took on the traits of its owner, and since this particular TiVo's owner was a malicious bastard, the TiVo thought it was funny to delete shows at random and replace them with episodes of Leery's River in German. "What," Hades snarled as he reached into the wound and pulled the remnants of the bullet out, molten silver dripping but no signs of blood, "the heck was that?" He tossed the hot bullet to the ground, fiery hair flickering different shades of blue in the darkness. "Who the heck are you?"

Thursday stared for a moment, then straightened and lowered her gun. Definitely not Acheron, and probably not Aornis. Besides, if he'd wanted to hurt her, he would have retaliated by now. "Thursday Next," she replied, allowing the gun to lower even further. She wasn't putting it back in her belt under the muzzle cooled down. "That was a silver bullet."
