DPP Sunday! And on the 7th day, the Lords of Kobol rested.

Feb 19, 2012 02:16

It's the unfortunate end of the road for my time as DPP host and it's been wonderful! Just a big thank you to everyone who has participated in some of the discussions we've had going on this week. For today, I thought we'd take a break (...from all your worries), recap the week, and get one last easy question under our belts.

So you're given a time ( Read more... )

Kara does not fly in the Maelstrom and does not die.

Now, realistically, I know that RDM would try to find a way around my interventions and try to kill her off, but I'm going to cross my time-traveling fingers and hope this fixes the poof. No death, no poof. It's my best shot!

Love the way you set up our task. Very fun!

Now that we've seen how the show goes with Kara dying and coming back, I agree very much. I'd love to see an alternate version of the show where Kara chooses not to die, realizes she's got things left living for, and see how the show changes because of it.

The writer's original idea for Maelstrom was that Lee would chase Kara into the storm and declare his love and she would pull up. I don't know how far they got with that idea, but clearly RDM, who did not want K/L together, nixed the idea. :(

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. I can see why RDM didn't want it, especially on TV when you're trying to do OMG TWISTS! all the time to get people talking. Gods damn it, RDM!

Kara shouldn't have married Sam that morning on new caprica.
and i believe that a good advice from Tigh it would be enough to change that.

when Kara said to the colonel (extended version) - I slept with Lee -, Tigh should have said something like, - finally kiddo. finally. - to a very surprised Kara. and then - i'm just an old man but listen to me about that: when you meet true love you know it, and true love isn't about everything being perfect. also, true love can scare the shit out of you, but trust me - caressing ellen - it is the only thing that really matters in the end. don't run away from it. from him.

I'm starting a motion to blame all our misery on Saul Tigh.

Realistically, I think the best time for her and Lee to shack up (whilst not depriving everyone of drama-drama-drama) would have been when she says she'll leave Sam for Lee towards the end of Season 3. It was her choice, her decision, completely and Sam at least was understanding of it, so she wouldn't have also been coping with so much guilt from the fallout with him. Of course, Lee went and frakked all of that up.

Poor pilots. Lee had no idea what it meant that Kara said she'd leave Sam. They both had so much fear. Damn, I hate that episode. :(

Absolutely agree with sci-fi-shipper up there, but if the death had to happen there was no reason *at all* for them to be apart in s4.

There were so many missed opportunities to count. Even if the writers couldn't bring them together in the earlier seasons for the longevity of the show, the last season had many moments where it would have made so much sense to have them take that additional step. Even with Malstorm. "Because I'm Lee. And you're Kara. And the rest of it isn't worth a damn."
Even with the poof, I would have been heartbroken but would have still smiled through tears with a single line of acknowledgement: "it was always you" or even less! Kara opening her mouth to say something and Lee stopping her to simply say "I know".

I am completely on board with this. Just even a small acknowledgement beyond the cringe-worthy lines that they put in Lee Adama's mouth. Just... gah. I throw my hands up in disgust. This show is just so uneven in every respect.
