From deep in the throng of mourners, Kara watched Lee approach his father's flag-draped coffin, the familiar lines of his face deepened with grief and anger.

OK, instead of Lee being on Galactica when the cylons attack, Kara is on Caprica because she suddenly has to confess her roll in Zak's death to him. The Colonies are not, yet destroyed, but the Galactica is. Lee loses his chance to reconcile with his father, and Kara loses the only support she's received from Lee in the two years since Zak's accident.

Lee woke gasping air, his mouth tasting like chemicals, a thick glaze of liquid coating his skin.

Shouting her name into the wind, Lee reached for her hand, fingertips just touching before she let go and her body plummeted into the darkness below.
