[RM] 1.88.3 - Ship of Fools

"I'm telling you we should've just landed and checked in at the Gate. But noooooo you had to claim that you knew a 'hunch' on something you saw in some chart back in the archives."

"And now we're a few hundred miles off from where we should be right? But we're alive? Yep. And sure we're trying to all ring his neck, but on the off-chance he's right?" Addie could hear the below the breath utterance about her saying the phrase 'off-chance' but let it slide as she continued, "Maybe we should at least give him some benefit of the doubt?"

"Thanks Aedeline."

"Well... I married you I can't really go side with him on this one. It'll look bad," Addie teased giving Jim a playful shove. "Besides if you're wrong that just means I get to hold it against you for a really long time that I stood by you when you were clearly way off base, and I bet that'll be good for something."

"Oh well that's just not fair taking his side on account of marriage, I'm ranking officer I should have my team on my side."

"Oh... yeah see Jim he's got a good point. I change my vote to John, so yeah we should've gone back to the other Gate and dialed in."

"See? Now who's got the majority vote."

Addie shook her head and moved to the back of the Jumper taking a seat for a moment as she knew that there was still going to be a fair amount of bickering from the front. It really was like babysitting a couple of five year olds trying to determine who was supposed to get the last cookie on the plate. Only there wasn't a cookie she could steal to stop them from fighting. Instead they were in the middle of uncharted, literally uncharted, skies trying to sort out if one star could match up with an out of date archive entry about the solar system they were in. Jim swore he'd seen a chart, John swore he knew where he was going or at the very least that the last planet they'd passed had a Gate and Addie was trying to keep them from starting a 'Stop hitting yourself fight' with each other.

She was almost wishing she'd asked Mike to go with her and John, because at least he... well actually Addie was pretty sure Mike probably would've done something at least similar. Though not to the point of reprogramming the flight pattern from the back of the Jumper while Addie and John were discussing stunts in action films. Letting her thoughts pull herself back into the Jumper and back to hearing the two of them bickering in the front of the Jumper Addie stood up and moved to behind the two seats resting her hands against the backs of the chairs.

"So... any progress boys or is this one of those times when I'm going to have to either get out a ruler, or flip a coin."

"Coin."

"Ruler, course I'm not sure I'm comfortable with you looking at John, I'd hate for you to lose any res-"

Addie swatted him upside the head at that one, "Knock it off! Look we're in the middle of nowhere. Literally? No-Where. Do you see out there? It's the black. You know what was back there? A rock. A planet of a rock, and you know where the rock isn't? Out-" Addie leaned forward a bit, squinting at the display that was in front of her. Then there it was, "Great. I'm never going to hear the end of this."

John laughed and Addie stood up again shooting him a look, "Yeah you won't either, so watch it."
