static + knotting

So i've had some trouble with No Poo.
First time I tried it, was last week... and it made my hair really dry.. so I used shampoo over the weekend. Then, yesterday, I gave it a try again. After I got out of the shower, I put just the smallest amount of coconut oil in my hair.. and my hair was soo greasy, that I had to rewash my hair... and it still didn't get all the grease out of it.. so I just thought I would wash it that night. so I washed it last night, with the bs, and acv rinse... No cocunut oil this time. But, all day today, my hair was SOO knotty, and staticy. I used the recommended dosages from Babyslim (I think that's her name lol)... and it also said in the memories, that if your hair is staticy, try Jojoba Oil... but im really worried about doing the oil thing again.. i don't want my hair to get too greasy.
Everyone brags about how their hair is SOO soft and shiny after using no poo.. Mine is the exact opposite, I usually have really soft, baby fine, shiny hair.... and now it looks dull, it's coarser.. and I can't even brush my hair without pulling 290908 hairs out of my head!!!!

any advice??? Is this a mixture problem? too much Baking Soda... Even though i used the recommended dosages??

and also, any short term advice???-- I would like to wear my hair down tommorrow, but don't plan on washing my hair until tommorrow night... But I just can't see myself dealing with my knotty/staticy hair tommorrow so I'll probably have to keep it in a pony tail.
