A Possible world of awkward (Backdated to 4/16)

Alfred had had a giant dinner delivered to him, one of his own creation so it was bound to be delicious. He'd spent every Easter since becoming Robin eating whatever Alfred made, teasing his Bruce until he made time and they could all eat in the dining room.

So what does he do when he has too much food and a bunch of nostalgia? Does he call Lee so they could eat dinner and smile and maybe have her spend the night? No, because that would be smart. Does he crash another family's Easter pland by calling Kadaj and inviting him over? No, because that would be smart and rude. What does he do? He calls Bruce. And invites him over in the most clumsy way possible.

"Hi Bruce, not sure if you have plans or something, but, if you don't I'd... I'd be more than happy to have you over for dinner. Alfred delivered enough to feed an army and... you know, never mind. Sorry.

Happy Easter Bruce, hope you have a good one.

Bruce stared at the phone for a long time after he got the message. It was, in many respects, the weirdest phone call he'd ever received. And yet, in some ways one of the nicest. He had no plans, and he missed Alfred. Not his Alfred who'd sent Tim dinner, but Alfred nonetheless.

Besides, he really did actually like Tim and the boy was reaching out. He owed him. And, he really did need someone he could trust with everything to talk to. Being friends with Tim would be complicated - emotionally complicated for Tim, and threatening to Kadaj, and probably Yazoo (who was weirdly starting to show signs of jealousy about who else he saw, even if he'd no intentions of giving up others).

Uncharacteristically, he paced, running his hands through his hair. The biggest concern was Kadaj, but he would tell Yazoo the truth about him and Tim and ask the man's advice. And do something for Yazoo...and Emma...for Easter.

Bruce called Tim back. "Hi Tim, this is Bruce. If you're still interested in getting together, whether for Easter or some other reason, I'd be...pleased to accept the invitation.

Either way, happy Easter, Tim." Then he hung up, and went back to trying to figure out what to send Emma and Yazoo for Easter.

Calling back he isn't sure whther he wants Bruce ot pick up or not.

"Hey, sounds good," he says, "I've got tons of food here so, feel free to come if you want."

He gives him the address, "I... I'll see you then Bruce."

So he heats up dinner exactly how Alfred's instructions say. And waits

easter, bruce
