Revolutions on an unsteady axis

Gravity down, don’t drown
Swim through the silence
Out into streetlights, radio blaring
Planets staring, turning
Buildings smoldering, burning
Please be ok
I can’t do this today
This is not happening
Not this, I’m not watching
I can’t bear to see you
When all I want is to blink your pain away
Lets just rewind, flip side
Take a second or a sentence
Reverse it into a different version
Twisted tranquility
I imagine you happy
On a beach in Tahiti
Umbrella drinks and cabana boys a plenty
I wish I could create a scene so serene
Water so clean and pristine you could scream
A place where worried are like flurries
Of snow melting as they flow
My amazement overwhelming
How can you be so strong, so brave
When my thoughts are all crazed
I sit dazed it hurts my eyes
To know you sleep without starry skies
Earth stops spinning for a time
Bending the limits, is there a god?
I pause, get down on my knees
Shaking hands sing sobbing slurring wiping nose on sleeves
Thanking someone I cannot see
Because he saved you for me
You’ll be ok you’ll be ok
You’re safe And my heart breaks
I can’t seem to catch my breath in the wake
Tide swallowing and then setting free
Leaves blow trees grow
The chaos calms and claims the corridor
Quiet settles and I smile through tears
Another day to laugh with you
Another chance to tell you I love you
Moments regenerate, hope renews
It hits me know as I kneel on the ground
The force is frightening but I fight it
None of it matters, the extraneous factors
Because mom, you’re here, you’re not going anywhere
Someone must have heard my unspoken prayer
My mommy, my chickens, the sun without end
My world restarting, its spinning again
