All the news...
Recently, I posted telling you all that I was leaving for the Marine Corps and wouldn't be back for a few months. Well, I went down to what they call "MEPS" where they height/weight you and process all your paperwork before you leave.
The story is this: I am 63.5 inches tall. That rounds me to 64 inches. When I went down there this time, they measured me in at 63.25 inches tall, which puts me down to 63 inches. This means I am in a different weight standard. So, I didn't meet it and basically, that's why I am home. SSgt Bean had warned me that their female capacity was a little overflowing this month and that they didn't really NEED females to go. So, I am guessing they were being quite strict about everything so as not to ship more females than they had to.
I am not leaving for the Marine Corps, though a guy there that same day got processed even with waivers for marijuana possession, burglary, and battery. He got to leave that day. I must admit, this is really shitty and I am pretty pissed off at the discrepancy. How could I be a one height twice and now I have shrunk? Oh well. Nothing I can do I suppose.
In other (much more happy) matters, I AM ENGAGED!!!! : D
