I am in Atlacomulco, Mexico at an internet cafe!!
Today, we went house to house and asked everyone questions pertaining to diabetes. It was very interesting! It is a lot better than the clinics because you can see where they get their water and the conditions that they are living in. Most live in cinderblock houses with curtains for doors and lots and lots of animals, especially dogs. Everyone is so gracious, especially the owner of the hotel that we are staying in. Our hotel has only 5 rooms, and the owner´s wife cooks breakfast and dinner for us everyday. On Friday we are going to stay at their ranch for the night, and she is going to cook Lebanese food for us, since she is actually Lebanese. Her husband is from here, though.
Mexico City was amazing as well. We didn´t get to do much in the way of nursing stuff, but just the city itself is incredible. Driving is somewhat like herding cattle. I just close my eyes and hope for the best. On Sunday we will probably be going to the Frida Kahlo museum. I am very excited about this!!!
For the rest of the week we will be going to people´s houses from 10 - 1:30 and then to the clinic from 3:30 - 5.
Hope everything is going well for everyone!
