After the recent power outage, there were a lot of insinuations that LiveJournal was the red headed step child of Six Apart because it came up a whole 15 minutes after Vox, never mind that Vox is magnitudes smaller than LJ. I tried Rojo, briefly, and thought it was quite good, but yeah, that much dowtime would kill any web based non-essential service, especially when Google Reader offers a similar service anway. It really was a buy for the staff not the product in that one.

Now if they'd done the sensible thing and remembered they already owned a decent, though inherently flawed, feed aggregator and worked on improving that one, but no, make the saleable points of LJ even better? Don't be silly, LJ is for teenage girls...

Well, my guess is the syndication is not the biggest point with many users, so it's not the best strategy to spend resources on...

I actually like using LJ as a feed reader. A lot, even.

It's mostly good but could use some improvements.

It tends to do a flush thingie sometimes and spam your journal with twenty posts in a row.
