Saying goodbye...
This is such a depressing week.
Monday: I found out that [Title of Show] and Xanadu are both closing on October 12th.
Tuesday: Xanadu's closing date was bumped up to the 28th. As in, tomorrow, with no warning.
Wednesday: I found out that Legally Blonde is closing on October 19th.
I hate that the economy is bad enough for this to happen. And as much as I like West Side Story, I hate that it's taking over for LB at the Palace. I would be more upset, of course, if more of the OBC was still in the show. At least LBB's last show and the show itself closing were separated to depress me at different times. At least it lives on in tour, though, and I know I'll see Laura Bell again somewhere, somehow. I just know I will.
And this whole Xanadu thing was so sudden that the people at the Helen Hayes, including the actors, didn't know until we did. And I feel terrible for Kerry Butler, who's performing in a concert tonight so she obviously won't be at the show, and I don't know if she can make it back for the closing performance. July 19th could have been my first and last time ever seeing Kerry Butler live in something, and that is SO depressing.
And [Title of Show] was so inspirational because I watched it get to Broadway, every step of the way.
This is sad, for Broadway fans everywhere.
