It's a sad and painful day for us Yankee lovers, so I hope this
xkcd comic celebrating baseball as sexual metaphor cheers you up a bit - it made me laugh out loud. (Or, you know, we can just think about some random A-Rod/Phelps RPS of screwed-up-ness, possibly with a Christian Bale cameo. Whatever helps to ease the pain, I say!)
If that doesn't help... here's a hysterically funny find via
busarewski's LJ: Bradley Cooper, Kevin Connolly, and Justin Long present
10 Chick Flick cliches you will NOT see in He's Just Not That Into You (youtube link). For the record, I won't be going to see the movie, but I LOVE this promo! As the LJ post above points out (and links to a great article), the gay comedy in this clip is actually not homophobic AT ALL. How refreshing is that?!
ANYWHO. As you might recall from recent history, I had this great plan to come back and then actually continue hanging out here, which... yeah, not really happening. Work has been crazy, leaving me without the minimum energy required to even turn on the computer at home - even on weekends, which are mostly spend sleeping, taking care of very basic (and quite necessary) housework, and on occasion having a social life; thus, no LJtimes. But I'll do my best to reverse this because I MISS YOU PEOPLE.
What I've been watching these days: BSG (holy frak so good), Psych (yay), Leverage (not enough squee in the world, esp. for my cyber ninja teevee boyfriend Hardison), House (um - still pretty?), Burn Notice (oh baby - welcome to HD), Life (problems ahoy, but I'm totally hanging on for the ride), Lie to Me (whoever thinks Tim Roth is not a hotass needs to see
this movie) annnnd.... huh. I think that's it. ONE OF THESE FINE DAYS, there will be a reckoning detailed review of each. Alas, today is not that day.
I leave you with the following prezzies:
If your inner nerd is longing for a new crush, may I recommend Randall Munroe, the creator of
xkcd? Because he is
too adorable for words (and possibly images). The youtube link is from an appearance at Google in December 2007. Yes, the clip is an hour long. Yes, you can skip to 35th minute and watch from there, but you'll miss... stuff.
And some completely random music (mediafire, change zz to tt in link):
