Man I'm bored. Bored and tired. So this is the last day of my first week of work and I feel like I should have more to say about that... but I don't. It's better than working for the mother (and by that I mean less stressful). I do a lot of driving which is (as anyone who's been in a car with me knows) scary. I get lost a lot. Today I got lost looking for Wallace Street, which obviously made me think of Veronica Mars, which made me laugh at my nerdiness. Meh. Also a bird flew into my car. I didn't even see it until it hit me. The karma from that little incident is not going to be good. Poor dead bird.
It looks like it's going to rain, which makes me happy, I just hope it holds off until I'm at home. Doesn't look likely and my tires suck. No traction in wet conditions.
So to pass the time until the phone rings again I will do what I most like to do; I will make a list. This list is called Songs on Repeat. It's basically a list of songs that I have been so obsessed with (or am currently obsessed with) that I have listened to them on repeat.
1) The Decemberists - We Both Go Down Together This is such a great song, I really can't get over it. I love the Decemberists and I am definately buying Picaresque as soon as I can afford it. I also really love Angels and Angles.
2) Pete Yorn - Just Another Girl I realize this is Duncan and Veronica's song, but looking past that one small fault it really is just so good.
3) The New Amsterdams - Hover Near Fame This song will always remind me of my roommate in first year. I don't really relate to the lyrics at all but it's so catchy I can't help but like it.
4) Damien Rice should have his own list First it was The Blower's Daughter then Delicate then Cannonball and now Volcano and just let me say, I'm only naming a few. I love all of his songs.
5) Bright Eyes There are three that I've been really obsessed with (although I've definately dug more than three of his songs) and they are Pull on My Hair, Lover I Don't Have to Love and The Calender Hung Itself. All so good.
6) Azure Ray - Displaced What a good song about friendship. I don't know if that's what it's really about. I haven't given it much thought, but that's what it will always be for me.
Okay this list will have to be continued at a later date as I have just entered a zone of total mental block. But mark my words, each one of those listed is a classy song and you would be doing yourself a service and everyone on your team if you gave them a listen. Alright I might update later but I wouldn't hold your breath.
Oh also, I changed my layout. Tell me what you think.
