ok, so. I'm sure some of you have heard this rant before, but this is my cry for help to anyone more compy inclined than myself. When we first got internet at my apartment my computer started crashing every time I was signed on after various lengths of time online. I could connect to the internet at any other location, including ones with password protected internet with no problem. Chris decided that reloading my operating system was the key, so I removed any files I wanted and let him have at it. After much debacles with non-genuine Microsoft software, I now have a genuine version of XP on my compy5000 and we're off and running. I was feeling all proud of myself for getting my shit together and I'm extracting the files for my wireless card to connect to the internet, and lo and behold my computer crashes. And this is with a virgin operating system. Anyone have any idea what may be going on? I'm going to try to call Time Warner tomorrow before I have to go to school, but I have a sinking feeling they're going to tell me that because my roommate's internet works fine that it's just my computer and it's not their fault. Any input, save for smashing my computer/internet router/cable company's customer service rep in the face please.
