Sciatica and running

Goddammit, I think I have sciatica.

It says that it's caused by a lot of different things (this also suggests some other potentially running-related causes), and that the treatments vary from ice/heat all the way through major surgery! While I'm not making the mental hypochondriatic leap just yet, I am becoming more certain that sciatica is what ails me the more I read up on it.

Basically, I have pain in my right leg only (not in the knees, calves or the hamstrings) running from about midway between my hip and knee down to about my knee, in the outside part of my leg. But it's weird -- it feels "deep," almost like my femur (the thigh bone) is hurting. And it only hurts after I stop running, although I can feel it while I am running. The pain is the worst from right after I stop running for about two to four hours afterwards. Then, it flares up during really random moments, such as when I am driving (and thusly pushing on the gas and brake) and when I am sitting at my desk at work.

Runners? Random LJ people? Any thoughts?
