So there's this used cd place right by me, and they did not have Gogol Bordello OR Kultur Shock. WTF. I harassed the salesclerk, but I did get something by Golfrapp which I think is the closest thing to hipster music I'll ever get, and something by The Streets. I was introduced to The Streets by one of my Pepsi coworkers, Nick.
I think Nick was so taken aback by Gogol Bordello when I told him about them that he decided to find the most off-the-beaten-track music in his colleciton and give it to me in a bid to keep up. Nick... very polite and decent guy and completely straightlaced. It was cute. The Streets are this Brit rap group. They have to hone their craft a bit, but Brits rapping is just punchy.
My other purchases tonight (besides a big bowl of raw salmon... it was HEAVEN) were the first two Harry Potters. I got everything for about $30. It was a totally sweet night. Shelves were put up, and more boxes unpacked. :)
...forgot to hunt for "Possibilities" and must acquire Goldfrapp's most recent cd...
