The weather today is too nice not to do something outside, but I'm not sure how to take advantage of it. Is it too late to call in sick once you've already come to work?

2 signs I'm dieting: my fingernail growth has slowed way down, and my lower back muscles get tired very easily. If I was still lifting I'd be super weak, that sign is impossible to miss, but I lay off the weights when dieting. (There's just no point, the way I diet.) I do have to get back into DDR though.

An Ed factoid I don't geekchick has mentioned either: When they removed his eye they found an abscess behind it. It's not clear exactly what role it played, but it might explain why his eye got so bad so fast despite treatment. This provides some counterweight of reason to thinking "If only we'd done something different or sooner, he might have recovered intact." Maybe that's true, or maybe the not-readily-detectable, not-readily-treatable abscess would have sealed Ed's fate anyway. He does seem to be recovering just fine, though. I think his experience might have been almost as traumatic for us as it was for him, maybe even more so.

Bad puns I'm *not* responsible for: "Fete Accompli Catering", seen on a van in Georgetown.

The past few weeks I've been thinking that the shorter days have not been bothering me to any noticable degree. I'm sure the nice weather is helping, we'll see how I feel in Jan/Feb, which are typically my worst months. Based on how I feel now, though, I'm sure I'll do better than in recent years.
