The Wisdom of Ed
geekchick and I often talk to our pets, filling in their side of the conversation based on their body language or likely response. It turns out Ed, our jet black guinea pig, is smarter than he seems. He'd gotten some matted fur, and after we trimmed it out he had a "flat top" look to his butt. Seeing that we started joking about other things we could do to him:
Us: We could give you a mohawk. *giggle*
Ed: No.
Us: How about a mullet? *bigger giggle*
Ed: Just no.
Us: We could dye your hair purple. Of course we'd have to bleach it first, which wouldn't be good.
Ed: Noooooo! *runs and hides*
Us: Oooh! We could use spray-on hair dye and give you a white stripe. You could be a skunk for Halloween! *maniacal laughter*
Ed: Any plan that ends in 'Ha ha ha' is automatically vetoed.
Huh. Maybe he's not so dumb after all!
