Year in Review

Nov 16, 2005 00:15

I had it in the back of my mind to do a corny 'year in review' since my last birthday, even though I'm forgeting most of what happened since turning 23. Of course I'm 24 now and still finding it hard to enjoy, especially in the stagnant state I'm in. Here we go anyway:

I started 23 coming off the shortest relationship ever to date. It turned into a tumultuous on and off friendship/whatever up till this July or August, when we cut each other out completely (hmm...imagine me getting lonely and dependent for almost a year...sarcasm here)

Amazingly enough, in August I scored a temp job doing mind-numbing accounting work which was more like clerking which was more like being on the bottom of the accountant's paper pile trying to dig out. Long story short, I left there to head to Cali and dish out soda for a handy piece of change (still waiting on the check). Oh, did I mention I was laid off in March and went to school again during the summer? Yeah, talk about a wake-up call that I'm only getting older, more single, more hating career paths, etc etc, you get the idea.

It's not fun when people tell you you can still do whatever you want in life. When you have so many options, you get tired of saying no to sucky things and just want to say yes and not be constantly rejected (on many levels, not just work related).

Ok, I'll stop rambling on. On another note, I'm not quite sure how I ended up w/ extra friends I never met on here. Oh yeah, I'm also finding the statement "the good ones are already taken" to be more and more relevant and true.
