Just in time for a return engagement this weekend, I've posted some annotated games on x-tables from Charlotte EC Collins. They're 3 months late, but at least they're available for perusal. The ones with Bob are fun shootouts, while the others are on the tenser side with interesting mid- and late-game positions. They're on the main annotated game website, or you can go to the tournament X-tables page and they should be listed there as well. Comments always welcomed.
Speaking of that return engagement, the Park tourney has suddenly become very competitive in D1; 5 of the 10 players are above 1700, so it should be a hotly contested (pun intended) round-robin on Saturday. Katie is directing both the park and Chez Katya, and she's been stressed with work lately, so I'm hoping being able to be in charge of everyone this weekend will cheer her up :).
It's only been a year since she tagged along with me to this tournament and took an interest in doing data entry into TSH, just to have something to do at Katya's during the day; now she has several tourneys under her belt as an assistant director, even organizing and directing a 1-day open herself. When I took Scrabble up competitively it was partly at her insistence, to get me out of the house and be social. I had no idea, with her distaste for spelling and word games, that she'd eventually become involved in the community as well. It's pretty cool, and even with her frustrations at EC this year I still think she enjoys doing it.
