instead of taking a nap, i ran up to behnkes nursery in potomac on the spur of the moment. grabbed a bunch of herbs, b/c mom's supply is limited: thyme, oregano, marjoram, rosemary, tarragon, lemon balm, and some flat-leaf parsley for her. they're all happily potted now, in two big pots ( Read more... )

hunh. it appears we have a mimosa sapling (maybe 2.5' tall) growing right against the fence, not quite directly behind the unidentified shrub. i do believe that's gonna have to come up, and soon. this begs the questions of what am i going to do with it? think it'd survive being transplanted? do i actually want a mimosa tree in my yard? does ( Read more... )

ooh! the catnip is just barely starting to sprout. i just went outside to call grandmama & dad, and looked in the box, and there were these leeeeeetle tiny seedlings, 4 or 5 of them. no sign of the chamomile yet.

time to get back up to "trash". whee!

(yes, i doused myself liberally with sunscreen beforehand.)

now i think it's time for a shower and a nap in the a/c. aahhh. i could get used to having a yard.
