so.. its not as easy for me to stay updated or post..
pages take forever.. I usually lose connection four, five.. a dozen times when I do log in
even my phone hardly picks up a signal (with the added bonus of no verizon store within 75 miles to even pay my bill/discontinue the bill)
but.. I do try and stay updated and read blogs

But yes, the economy IS in the crapper, and even more so than most places here in SD. Would it be so bad to put your plans on hold for another 6 months or so and stay there? Aside from the internet, of course. That way you could live rent-free, save some serious moolah, spend time with the parental unit, and move here AFTER the winter. (I was thinking that driving from WI to SoCal in like January might be a bad idea anyway).
I don't know if this is helping.. but I do hope so. I was looking forward to having a house hobbit... or at least having you nearby. But, at least I really do plan on visiting SD often....

there was just something about the Rocky mountains plus winter divided the donner party equaling a cannabilistic hobbit
bah.. I just hate being out of communication for so long
my mind is at warp speed in a 20mph school zone
but hey.. I did offer y'all cookies :-p
however.. I can't fault you guys at all for moving on up and doing the google thing and.. well.. hopefully You won't have any trouble avoiding unenjoyment once up there
