Singin' in the Rain on the big screen

Yesterday LC and I headed over to my favourite cinema the TIFF Lightbox to watch Singin' in the Rain (1952) on the big screen. I love this movie. It's one of my favs! This is the first film my dad saw when he came to Canada from Italy. My dad sings (tenor - he made a record 45in once) and loves musicals so I think I get my love of musicals from him. I unfortunately can't sing lol. I got my mum's voice there!

The was a good crowd at the cinema for a Sunday afternoon. You could tell those who hadn't seen it and those who had. The cinema was so quite & peace when we fist arrived and most were speaking in hushed tones. It seemed appropriate. About 15 mins before the movie started 3 people who loved the sound of their own voices and just continued to talk loudly and obnoxiously. One of them persisted to giggle through the whole movie. The movie is funny but not to that level! It took away from my enjoyment just a wee bit but not enough to ruin the movie which I own and have seen countless times I can recite some of the lines.

I love when they show the oldies on big screen (Cineplex has it on a continual basis) and I hope TIFF continues to do the same!
