Step 2: Fire up Kismet, note that none of the APs in the neighborhood, except mine (currently on UPS) are functioning.

Step 3: Call power company to report outage.

A week ago Friday was a total ball of suck, primarily because I had forgotten that I was summoned to jury duty in Wayne County, and I needed to be excused.
