I am back in Christchurch for the evening, so it seemed like a good chance to post. There are so many crazy things I'd forgotten about, but I see them and they are immediately familiar. Like seeing the postie (mailperson) riding a bicycle to deliver the mail. Each day I am surprised by things, but of course, they are forgotten by the time I get to the internet. :p
We were in Akaroa for a few nights at Matt's family's bach (cabin) which was built by his grandfather. We played Skipbo and walked into town- a French village with only about 400 permanent residents along with hundreds of holiday homes and day trippers. We went to a movie there, and the theater had two screens, with about 16 seats each. I'd forgotten that theaters here assign seats.
We are going back tomorrow with Matt's friends. So far we've only spent time with his family, so it will be good to see everyone again.
Time to go be social. :)
