My (eventful?) weekend

...Was not all that eventful, actually. Went to Dale and Jennifer’s party last night at their new house on Oneida Lake. It’s not finished yet, but it’s getting there, and it’s gorgeous, with a beautiful view. Dale’s built it himself, basically; it used to be their old camp but then he built the new house around it and knocked out the walls of the old one, or something.

Dale and Jennifer are awesome people. Dad met them through work at they’ve been friends ever since. Dale reminds me of an older version of Spike and is a world champion jet-skier. Jennifer is really cool too- she reminds me of Jonelle, in a way, but I don’t think I’ll ever love her as much. Their daughter Emma is absolutely adorable.

As soon as we got there Emma and Jennifer came out with a bucket of baby rabbits they had found under the barn or something. They were so little- didn’t even have their eyes/ears opened yet. Awwwwwwww! Then they found out that there were only five in the bucket, but there were supposed to be six, so we all stood around looking for a baby rabbit for ten minutes before they said “Guess we miscounted” and gave the rabbits to some guy who was going to take them to another barn and feed them and whatever.

Moving on, I made some new friends (Tim, the movie guy; Karen, who was drunk; Brian, who was the guy who took the groin shot in Tim’s movie; Angela, who’s ass showed up in every picture; and another girl whose name I didn’t quite catch but reminded me very much of Danielle, my upstairs neighbor in Arizona.) We all watched Tim’s movie- it was awesome, really short but it was only one section of it. He spent eight years in LA doing stunts and stuff, and now doing little movies for Public Access is his hobby. I had a rum and coke (“Yes, but WHY IS THE RUM GONE???” “Because Heather drank it, idiot.”) Didn’t stay too much longer after that, as I was supposed to work this morning.

Didn’t go to work this morning, since I wound up puking down the side of 31 out the car window in the rain. I feel really bad for the car that was behind us- well, serves them right for tailgating. Wasn’t drunk at all- that would have been too easy- I had a sinus attack. Ugh. Hate when that happens. Although I should have seen it coming, I suppose. I’d had a headache all that afternoon.

I wonder why I always wind up throwing up out the window of a moving vehicle? How come no one ever pulls over for me? This has happened about fifteen times over the course of my life. It seems very odd to me. The driver has always pulled over for anyone else.

So it goes that I spent most of today asleep, and boggling about how I have no free time for this coming week. At least, not till Thursday.

Monday: Going out with Johanna, movies or something. Possibly ‘Le Divorce’ if it’s playing.
Tuesday: Dinner and psuedo-opera with Mrs. Orth. We’re going to listen to Lucia the whole way through.
Wednesday: Lesson with Mrs. Orth.

Suzanne: I called you a couple of times on Friday, but your line was busy. I’ll call you tomorrow- do you want to do something on Thursday or Friday?

Also, I have not yet seen SWAT. This bothers me. I am Michelle-less. *angst, angst*

Okay, so I’ve been looking into Candomblé lately. I’m really intrigued by it. So, my next mission when I go to New York (looks like September, for Christopher’s wedding) I’m going to try to find someone who can throw the cowries for me, and tell me which saint/god’s protection I’m under. Very, very, very cool.
