Even though I've been laid up on the couch of suffering, I was able to get about enough to take some photos! Enjoy!
Here I am on said couch of suffering being sad and blurry and holding up the nice new fallopian tube that I knit for myself:
And outside, check out my awesome amaryllises. My mom gave me the bulb in a pot for Christmas a few years ago and I planted it outside in the spring; it set up leaves but didn't do much else last year, but this year it bloomed like a mofo.
Here's the walking onion doing its thing:
and that's really about what I've been up to, laying on the couch and toddling wobbily around the yard. On Tuesday it's back to work, I hope I'll have the energy for it...
The highlight of TODAY was that my friend Chris came over and brought me my CHICKENS! We went in on an order at
http://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com and he raised the chickens to healthy pullets for me.
They seem to like their yard
3 golden Polish crested and 3 mystery hens. Chris pointed out to me that the crested ones are prone to being eaten by predators because they don't have any peripheral vision, so getting some non-crested ones too seemed like a good idea.
Patchy likes watching them but so far is not aggressive towards them. Check out the cute little chicken door on the right of the henhouse.
They like hanging out in this corner by the henhouse but haven't yet figured out they can go in. Sigh.
HE'S SO FLUFFY!
Aren't the crested ones cute?
