Saw the latest Batman movie last night on IMAX with Al and OMG IT'S AWESOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME!!!! No, seriously, it is!
Heath Ledger was INCREDIBLE as the Joker (best creepy Joker EVER) and Christian Bale was, of course, stunning and sarcastic, just the way I like my Bruce/Batman. I've heard people saying they didn't like how Bale did the Batman voice and being a girl who is used to the great voice acting of Kevin Conroy (the guy who's been doing Bruce/Batman voice for more than 15 years), I can understand people going "Heh. Not so great." But personally, I think Bale does a great job because between his Bruce and Batman voice, there IS a big difference, which means people can't even THINK those two are the same person. :3 Very realistic and well thought if you ask me.
You got to see the new Two-Face and he's JUST like the cartoon!!! O_O Creeply good!! XDDDDD His background is very different from the cartoon series but interesting nonetheless. ^.^ Nothing to do with the colorful one in Batman Forever.
I've heard rumors that the third movie would feature Catwoman, played by Angelina Jolie. Let's hope, if that ever happens, she'll be able to give CW her incredible reputation the last movies took away from her. >.< CW is a grey character and I like her well. She's not evil but not that good either. The only thing she cares about are kitties. lol That's her motivation: anything cat related, she'll be there, whether to collect the piece of art or to protect an endangered cat species. Very interesting character.
Alfred, played by Michael Caine, is one of my favorite characters in the new movie series. Caine plays him so well and his relationship with Bruce and how he deals with the dark knight thing is well thought. I mean, it's credible, you know? Though, Dark knight doesn't have the humor you saw in the previous movies. You do have a few jokes here and there but this movie is REALLY dark. I LOVED that. Superheroes have complex personnalities and their universe is not black or white. In DK, you see that Batman is still new at this superheroe business but you don't know how many years between the first and second movie. My guess is about...2-3 years.
Lucius is another sweet character. I like the idea that Batman couldn't do everything he does without trusty allies. In the movie, the way I see Lucius, he's like Batman's conscience. He has ethics and I think Bruce knows he could go crazy with his "night job" so he leaves certain ethical issues to Lucius and he goes with what Lucius says. But I won't discuss this any further unless you have seen the movie. :3
Another well played character is Gordon. Gary Oldman really put the nail on that character! You believe he is Gordon! That is neat!! He's so human and sweet. If he wasn't married with two kids and that old, I would totally go for his character. -_^
And to see all this on IMAX was really worth it! You enter the movie and you forget everything around you! Incredible!
So, for any Batman fans out there, go see the movie. :D
