"the lesbian capital of the world"
tonight feels weird. dont' get me wrong, i feel fine. in fact, i feel better than i have in awhile. it's just a weird night for some reason, and i have a lot of things running through my head.
it was nice to get the hell out of providence this weekend. i went with my friend adam to western mass and got to see where he grew up and meet some of his old friends (even his parents), as well as see the nice scenic place by the river where he lived before he moved to providence. his old roommate still lives there. after going out to a bar, we (adam, his friends, and i) ended up sitting around drinking beer and watching mystery science theater 3000. eventually everyone was passing out, and one of adam's friends gave me a blanket and told me to go sleep in the other room. i guess they all ended up fighting over who had to sleep on the floor and so forth. meanwhile, i was on a sketchy stained and excessively firm mattress with a cat who decided to sleep with his foot in my mouth. but that's just part of the nostalgic charm of crashing at someone's house. so yeah, a really good time just surrounded by a different environment than usual (thanks adam).
i carried a cardboard box full of empty beer bottles out to the curb tonight. they were leftover from the bonfire on friday night, and i could still smell the sand and surf in the box as i held it. at first it reminded me of how nice it will be to start going to the beach as it gets warmer. then it made me think of florida....scott and tiffany whom are both so dear to me and whom i can't wait to spend time with on a sandy beach. i hope the trip works out this summer. it would mean alot to me.
i can't stare at the screen any longer, my eyes are burning. it's probably another effect of the road trip, which involved sleeping in my contacs last night. poor little eyes...come on, let's pull the blankets over you and tuck you in for the night.....
