Was going to do my book list tonight, but seeing how it is now technically the morning -- I think it can wait until later.
I'm finally getting over this stupid cold. Hopefully, it will be completely gone by the end of the week. I'm lucky compared to some -- I know some people who were sick/still are sick for *weeks* For once *knocks on wood* I got off light. That doesn't usually happen!
It's a credit to how much it snowed by the amount of white (and gray) snowpiles we can still see, more than a week later, with temperature highs in the 40s and 50s ever since the so-dubbed Winter Wallop. We're to get lots of rain tomorrow, which means a possibility of flooding. Joy, oh rapture. Wish there was a way we could send the rain to a place where it was actually needed!
Got some sad news at work -- a co-worker passed away late Sunday. She had been ill, but it was still unexpected. She was a really sweet, upbeat lady and will be missed.
Interesting news about the Deathly Hallows movie -- or should I say movies? So, there will be two, instead of one. Actually, this makes me optimistic that the final effort won't be a complete chop-job.
Speaking of Harry Potter, though, a note about Grudge Match:
This is something I never thought I would write. The Great Snape-Deveroux Grudge Match, in all likelyhood, will not be finished.
That is painful to say. This story was started more than a year before OoTP came out by my best friend and I, and involved a lot of work, outlining and thought. I know several people -- at least at one time --have been following this story, and I hate to leave things as they are. But real life issues have hit us both hard, and things are unlikely to improve anytime soon. I'd rather not go into details on a public board like this.
To those who have been following this, I am terribly, terribly sorry. Even a year ago, I never dreamed of not finishing Grudge Match, and neither did my co-author.
I appreciate the questions and feedback left for us on Grudge Match. In my case, at least, I think I have improved as a writer.
May better times smile on us all.
On a more cheery note, I attended a local egg art show; that is always a fun event. Took the pysanki class in the afternoon. I needed the color therapy! It was fun, haven't done pysanki in ages. I'll post a picture of my egg creation soon(ish).
I should be able to get back tomorrow on the book list -- I have a lot, including Johnathan Strange and Mr. Norrell -- very good read, although it took a while to get through it. But it was worth it. More later... the sandman is calling and I am going to be a zombie tomorrow as it is!
