So what, right?  It's just socks, but I’m rather pleased with myself as I took roving through dyeing and spinning and knitting to become a pair of socks. If the apocalypse comes (zombie or otherwise), as long as I have my spindle and some pointy sticks (and a nearby sheep or two), I can create comfy socks. And maybe more. :D
