and nobody is perfect and nobody ever can be perfect i want you to hear me tonight because i know we walk miles in tiny open circles around each other and have become so accustomed to the sight, smell and touch of each other that by now we almost think each other's thoughts but i want you to hear me tonight when i tell you i am burning i am burning to death and you are the sole witness and i forgive you everything if you only let me lose this face drop this mask scream right out loud and grin when the dark comes 'round i need you to know me and know you can never know me and our presence in each other's life is a gift such a gift and we must not forget that we are not here to fix each other we are not here to heal each other we are not here to instruct each other we are not here to command each other we are not here to complete each other and we are not here to distract each other we are here to learn from each other and we are here to listen to each other and we are here to watch each other and use what we find to make ourselves more beautiful and more useful more thoughtful and we all have so much to add we should reach out and make our equation grow we should embrace the death of the status quo we must dance like everyone watching is learning a new motion a way to navigate the furious ocean each of us wanting to earn permission to fly to reach up and cry or scratch some blood from the beckoning sky we have no owners no people to report to no quota to live up to no country to bow down to no master and no deadline my heart is on the faultline and i'd rather have you kill than cage me you are what i die for you are what has made me you are what still calls me and you are what now owns me and nothing owned is lost and nothing ruined is worthless and nothing unsound is unwanted and while nobody is perfect and nobody can ever be perfect i want you to hear me tonight because i know we walk miles in tiny open circles around each other and have become so accustomed to the sight, smell and touch of each other that by now we almost speak each other's words but i want you to hear me tonight when i tell you i am burning i am burning to death and you are the sole witness and i forgive you everything if you'll only let me lose this face drop this mask scream right out loud and swallow my silence when the dark comes 'round i need you to know me and know you can never control me and our presence in each other's life is a gift such a gift and we must not forget that we are not here to fix each other we are not here to heal each other we are not here to instruct each other we are not here to command each other we are not here to complete each other we are not here to judge each other and we are not here to fulfill each other we are here to learn from each other and we are here to carefully watch each other and we are here to revere each other and use what we find to make ourselves more beautiful and more wonderful more thoughtful and we all have so much to add we should reach out and make our understanding grow we should embrace the negation of the status quo we must dance like everyone yearning is learning a new direction a way to navigate the mercurial potion each of us struggling to gain a mount from which to fly to reach up and shout or scratch some blood from the burgeoning sky we have no captors no crew to report to no standard to live up to no nation to bow down to no commander and no deadline my heart is on the faultline and i'd rather have you kill than cage me you are what i try for you are what has slain me you are still what calls me and you are now who knows me and nothing known is lost and nothing ruined is worthless and nothing unsound is unwanted and while nobody is perfect and nobody can ever be perfect i want you to hear me today because even though we walk lifetimes in tiny heartshaped circles around each other and have become so accustomed to the sight, sound and smell of each other that by now we almost see each other's sights i want you to hear me tonight when i tell you i am burning i am burning to death and you are the sole witness and i forgive you everything if you will only let me lose this face drop this mask scream right out loud and grin when the need comes 'round i want you to know me and know you can never unknow me and our presence in each other's life is a gift such a gift and we must not forget that we are not here to punish each other we are not here to dictate to each other we are not here to absolve each other we are not here to understand each other we are not here to rebuild each other we are not here to unwind each other and we are not here to validate each other we are here to learn from each other and we are here to listen to each other and we are here to watch each other and use what we find to make ourselves more beautiful and more useful more thoughtful and we all have so much to add we should reach out and make our equation grow we should embrace the death of the status quo we must dance like everyone watching is learning a new motion a way to navigate the illimitable ocean each of us wanting to earn permission to fly to reach up and cry or quench our soul in the beckoning sky for we have no keepers no people to report to no quota to live up to no elder to bow down to no master and no deadline my heart is on the faultline and i'd rather have you kill than cage me you are what i die for you are what has made me you are what still calls me and you are what now owns me and nothing owned is lost and nothing ruined is worthless and nothing unsound is unwanted and while nobody is perfect and nobody can ever be perfect i want you to hear me tonight because i know we walk miles in tiny open circles around each other and have become so accustomed to the sight, smell and touch of each other that by now we almost think each other's thoughts but i want you to hear me tonight when i tell you i am burning i am burning to death and you are the sole witness and i forgive you everything if you will only let me lose this face drop this mask scream right out loud and fly right past take a hint from a fellow fibroplast and cry aloud when the dark comes 'round mine your gems from the underground because i need you to know me and know you can never hold me and our shadow in each other's life is a gift such a gift and we must not forget that we are not here to fix each other we are not here to heal each other we are not here to instruct each other we are not here to command each other we are not here to complete each other and we are not here to distract each other we are here to learn from each other and we are here to listen to each other and we are here to watch each other and use what we find to make ourselves more beautiful and more useful more thoughtful and we all have so much to add we should reach out and make our karma grow we should embrace the destruction of the status quo we must fuck like everyone watching like everyone is learning a new motion a way to channel the undulating ocean each of us wanting to earn permission to fly to reach up and moan or scratch some escape in the looming sky we have no neighbors no chieftain to report to no quota to live up to no captain to bow down to no owner and no deadline my soul is on the front line and i'd rather have you kill than cage me you are what i left for you are what has made me you are what still pulls me and you are what enslaved me and nothing remembered is lost and nothing renounced is worth the cost and nothing unspoken is uncovered and while nobody is perfect and nobody can ever be perfect now more than ever i need you to hear me
