So, several people have asked about my knitting - which I'm just learning to do, so be gentle! I started in May, I think. I'm making 100% cotton wash/dishcloths because they help me practice my technique and are useful when done.
After a few very lame starts, I've now finished three that aren't completely hopeless.

Also, I covet your autumnal yarn. Leaf lace in all its variations is my favorite knitted trick.
I'm currently swatching for a shrug, trying to find a leaf lace stitch that will show up on black yarn. I may be on a fool's quest, but I'm enjoying the trip, anyway. :D

For me, it's peacock feathers. I don't know where it comes from, but I've got peacock Tiffany lamps in my house, and the shawl I'm coveting is a peacock feather pattern.

I haven't made anything else out of sugar and cream yet, but I may. I recently had to give up and admit that I'm allergic to wool, so no lovely Malabrigo for me. :(

Ooh, that sounds lovely.
I had a total obsession with crocheted pineapple lace for a while, but the leaf thing is lifelong. Maple leaves are my manifesting symbol.

This is the shawl I want so badly (will have to do it in cotton thread, not wool!), but I'm just about as smitten with paisley shawl. I found a place in Canada that has good prices, and I'm tempted just to go ahead and by them so that I have them when I'm good enough.
I crochet a lot of pineapples. They're so useful in crochet!

That's more than just a bit good, that's very impressive. You've only just started and you're doing patterns like this already.
Go you.
*Is very impressed*

I like doing patterns, otherwise I'd go nuts from the boredom.

I am not a summer lover either. I prefer winter to autumn, just.
You're doing it very well.
