I was trying to write yesterday, but the joy and optimism I was feeling seriously harshed my angst buzz. And I needed that for the purposes at hand. So while I was watching the festivities on the tv, I did do a little netsurfing. My favourite things that I discovered.
You've probably all seen the
Legoland Inauguration, but I find it adorable despite myself. I love li'l Aretha's curls (not as awesome as the big bow church hat, however), the TV cameras, and especially the lines for the portaloos!
I also stumbled onto
WebUrbanist, which is incredibly cool, and I love the abandoned architecture. The
pyramid in Pyongyang is bizarre. That first photo looks like the end of the Korean version of Planet of the Apes. It can be depressing to look at, but many are aesthetically fascinating. But for sheer efficiency, it's hard to top a
German/Soviet complex that was used as a military hospital "complete with a surgery, psychiatric ward and rifle range". Talk about your one-stop shopping, eh?
