I just finished watching that episode too. I don't like what happened to Rose. I only understand about half of what everybody is saying. Can I ask you something? Jack has a pendant in this picture. http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff74/swordznsorcery/doctor%20who/ten/4x13/vlcsnap-149720.jpg I don't know what it is, could you explain about this, please? Thank you so much, in advance.
Hi, there! I'll try to explain, although it was very "handwavey technobabble" in the script - basically, they were making it up and trying to make it sound scientific, but it was called a "warpstar". By the way he and Sarah Jane were talking about it, it was an explosion "frozen" or locked/trapped in time, so if they could somehow release the lock, it would make a big boom.
Is that any clearer?! (The science in this show is appallingly bad.)
Sorry poking my nose in. I loathed that thing - if it was going to make as big a kablooey as they were making out a) why did they need to wire it up to anything? and b) when Jack was zapped out of there - and, you know, *dropped it* why didn't it then actually go *kaboom*?
While I could see it not blowing up just being jostled around (because, waytooeasyKABOOM!), it was the biggest deus ex Companion-pocket ever. I mean, I love SJS (2000s SJS even more than original flavour), but having a convenient explosion mounted on a pretty gold-plated accessory?
Above all, this episode was just so sloppy. I rewatched PotW recently, and it's amazing how much better it holds together than any of the other finales. There's still that "Why are they sitting there stripping wires forever and ever?" But all in all, nothing to throw you out of the story to the extent of Tinkerbell!Jesus!Ten or "Hang on to that lever while I suck all the bad guys into the void, why don't you? And oh, don't let go. And noooooo!" with all the subtlety of a Tex Avery cartoon.
Hi! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you sooooo much for responding to my question. It's soooo kind of you! Great help!

Thanks to you, I understand the sequence. I'm glad that JB got a chance to work with Liz. He is a big fan of her.
Is that any clearer?! Yes, crystal! You have my heartfelt appreciation.
