Journey's End

So every spoiler I heard was true. Every one that I was dreading, they did.*

On the plus side, they pulled it off better than I ever expected. I'll bet if you love Ten, it was orgasmically wonderful. The problem is, I don't, so it left that trace of bitterness behind; but it was definitely the best finale since S1, no doubt. And for once, the pacing worked pretty well. It wasn't as noisy as I feared.

*The one spoiler they avoided was making Harriet a traitor. Thank God, I would have had to hurt people for that one.

Thank God, in the end, it was Donna's story. She deserved it. I am so glad Rose didn't get the final position.

Oh, dear God, two seconds in, and I'm rolling my eyes. I knew there'd be a cheat in the regeneration, but that was absolute cheatingest cheating they've ever cheated.

Jack refusing Donna's hug? Sexist/ageist much?

Sarah Jane, on the other hand, rocks.

Daleks in the Black Forest - okay, pretty cool.

Rose and Ten continue to be revolting together. It's not so much her. It's his smug smirk. Really, such a turn-off.

Would it kill Tennant to enunciate? And it seems to be affecting Biliie Piper as well. OPEN YOUR TEETH, please. Let the tongue actually make contact with the roof of the mouth. There. Is that so hard?

Donna's hearing the sound of drums. Please, do not go there.

They're going there...

Yep, two Tens, the most horrible fate in the universe. This one is just as fucking obnoxious as the original. I just cannot find his schtick charming. I wish someone could convince me of it, but it's just like fingernails down a chalkboard.

Love Jackie. Quite like Jackie's coat and top. But find Noel Clarke increasingly affected as an actor - the nostril flaring and heavy breathing doesn't work for me.

Martha was good. I liked her being a ninja!

Tennant has a lovely moment being "possessed" again, as in Midnight. This just confirms that all those annoying traits are choices, which is even more appalling than just being a bad actor. The ending, at least, is more convincing than the end of Doomsday.

I do love that it was Donna's human bit that helped save reality. I could have done without her being so Ten-like - it's grating, even when Donna is doing it, and I love Donna.

The trip back home was a bit OTT, Murray. Actually, make that a LOT OTT. Please stop it.

Terrorist fist jab!

And... the ending I'd heard about and feared happened. The only saving grace was that he was "Nine". Actually, if you think about it, they could have put CE in that second Doctor's place, and it would have worked just as well. I'm going to remember it that way.

I knew Donna was going to suffer some way. And in a way, it's the most horrible fate of all. DAMN IT, I want Donna back.

Couldn't Wilf have had a trip? I made it so far in this episode, and it's Wilf that made me cry.

So. Given that they contravened most of my prayers, I'm surprisingly calm about the whole thing!
