Today I did a fun piece based on those snails in the last illustration I did. I must admit I was thinking of my little sister the whole time and kind of catered it to her. She has a "pet" snail named Ferdinand whom she found in the trash and now she keeps him in a dish with my mom's colander on top. Needless to say, my mom bought a new colander. Ferdinand eats strawberries and lettuce, hence the strawberry "prize". He's not so colorful as these guys, but, hey, artistic license. ;-) I don't really have a reason for sticking track numbers on these guys aside from the fact that it's pretty funny to think of snails racing, and that one might be going so fast as to have his number blow off. I'll likely save this one and give it to Amy for Christmas or something.
