small wonders.

at about fifteen minutes to sunset i decided i'd better go out and get stuff for dinner. it had rained in the late afternoon and it was still drizzling so i wasn't really keen on it but we had no food either. boy am i glad. as i was opening the door i noticed the sun was peeking out through the drizzle.

"i bet there's a rainbow somewhere," i said, and as soon as i got off the porch, bam!, it hit me in the face. right in front of me was the most beautiful rainbow i'd ever seen spanning the entire sky, and i could see both ends. it was so amazing.

the car ride was not so amazing though because every idiot was looking at the rainbow and not paying much attention to the roads. but at the grocery store, it was a band of brotherhood as everybody who was leaving their car or getting out of the grocery store stopped to talk to others they'd never met and comment on how beautiful the it was. which was just about as cool as the rainbow. i wish i had had my camera, but by the time i got out of the store, the sun had set and it was back to being grey again. still, i'm very glad i went out just at that moment.
